Funerals

cross-1517094_1280How do I go about arranging a funeral?

This can be a very stressful and difficult time. You will find that our local Funeral Directors are best placed to co-ordinate the actual service. If you already know what you want, or if your loved one has left detailed instructions, it is probably best to contact the Funeral Directors first and they will contact us at your request.

You do not need to be a regular church-goer to have the funeral at All Saints Church, Allesley or to ask one of our clergy to take the service at another cemetery or crematorium.

Our primary aim is to celebrate and give thanks for the person’s life and to help family and friends to support one another. We also offer a message of Christian hope as we commit this person to our merciful Father.

A clergy would meet with you before the service to choose music and/or hymns and any special words or readings you would like. If any friends of family members would like to participate in word or song they would be most welcome.

After the service our Bereavement visitors will contact you to offer further help. They also hold regular coffee mornings each Friday at 10.30 am where you can meet people in similar circumstances. Each year on All Saints Day we hold a service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration where we remember the names of those who have died during the year. Their names are inscribed in our Memorial Book in Church.
