Why we are here
There has been a church on this site in Allesley for over 800 years. Christians here have sought to worship God, to tell people the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to serve the people of the parish.
The work carries on today. Visitors will find an active parish church with a variety of worship styles at its services on Sunday, and a network of small groups that meet throughout the week. We see these groups or cells as building blocks of the church. They are for all age groups and aim to help members grown in their faith, support one another, and to be equipped to practice their faith in the pressures of everyday life in this modern world.
We have a purpose here in Allesley.
We are here to worship God, to make disciples and to transform our communities by demonstrating the life and love of Jesus.
- Our love for God overflows in worship. As the Holy Spirit moves in our hearts and minds we want to express our worship together.
- Jesus sent His disciples out to share the good news that we can be reconciled to God through his work on the cross if we will put our trust in Him. Then we become new disciples of Christ.
- God wants us to live in community together. We are all part of several communities: our family & friends, our neighbourhood and our occupation and all of these can be made better and built up as we live out our Christian lives.
